This format results in a cartridge capacity of 100GB when using HP Ultrium 100GB data cartridge. ULTRIUMC - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the ULTRIUM recording format with compression. This format results in a cartridge capacity of approximately 200GB when using HP Ultrium 200GB data cartridge. 2. Firmware level used during validation process HP LTO FW: N11G ============== Seagate LTO ============== 1. New Formats ULTRIUM - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the ULTRIUM recording format. This format results in a cartridge capacity of 100GB when using Seagate Ultrium 1 data cartridge. ULTRIUMC - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the ULTRIUM recording format with compression. This format results in a cartridge capacity of approximately 200GB when using Seagate Ultrium 1 data cartridge. 2. Firmware level used during validation process Seagate LTO FW: 1080 ============== Tandberg SLR40 ============== 1. New Formats QIC20GB - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR40 recording format. This format results in a cartridge capacity of 20GB when using SLRtape40 media. QIC20GBC - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR40 recording format with compression. This format results in a cartridge capacity of approximately 40GB when using SLRtape40 media. Note: QIC20GB and QIC20GBC formats should be used with SLRtape40. 2. Firmware level used during validation process Tandberg SLR40 FW: 0388 3. Backward Compatibility Write - SLR32/24 Read - SLR32/24/5 ============== Tandberg SLR60 ============== 1. New Formats QIC30GB - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR60 recording format. This format results in a cartridge capacity of 30GB when using SLRtape60 media. QIC30GBC - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR60 recording format with compression. This format results in a cartridge capacity of approximately 60GB when using SLRtape60 media. Note: QIC30GB and QIC30GBC formats should be used with SLRtape60 and SLRtape40. 2. These are used in conjunction with Tivoli Storage Manager Version 4.2 Administrator's Guide and Administrator's Reference. These diagrams can be added to their sections for recording the SCSI ID's and device names. Element addresses are used by Tivoli Storage Manager to address the tape drive device and the storage slots contained by a SCSI Library/Autochanger. The Tivoli Storage Manager command DEFINE DRIVE utilizes the element address of each drive in a multi-drive library. The Tivoli Storage Manager command CHECKIN LIBVOL uses the address of a storage slot for libraries that do not have Entry/Exit ports. With the exception of DUAL LUN (Logical Unit Numbers) devices, you will need separate SCSI ID for your autochanger and a SCSI ID for each drive in your library device. Configure the autochanger and each drive in the library separately using the procedure described in the 'Configuring a Tape Drive, or Autochanger' section of the Tivoli Storage Manager Administrator's Guide. NOTE: On some libraries, the element addresses of the cartridge slots will not directly correspond to the slot numbers (e.g. slot number 1 may be element address 2, etc.). This is important because Tivoli Storage Manager will always reference cartridge slots by element addresses, not slot numbers. _______________________________ Figure 1 ________________________________ Default Element Addresses for Sony TSL-A400C AIT1 Autoloader -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Addresses Addresses of Addresses of Addresses of Model #s of Drives Storage slots Transport Entry/Exit Slots ----------- ---------- -------------- ------------ ----------------- TSL-A400C 1 2 - 5 0 N/A ______________________ ___________ ________ | slot3 | slot4 | autoloader| | drive | |___@4_____|____@5_____ | LUN=1 | | LUN=0 | | slot2 | slot1 |____@0_____| |___@1___| |___@3_____|____@2_____ @ = element address <-- Load this end first Notes: ------ 1.
