Email: --electronic exchange of messages between individuals and computers --electronic communication --very fast and easy -types of Email access and implementations mainframe based: user must log on to mainframe and perform Email functions there (example, PSUVM) client-server based: share tasks between client and server server: performs a service such as getting data, routing electronic mail, finding addresses, .........etc etc client: program on end user's pc; there are many different clients available on many different types of computers Eudora is an example of an Email client. POPMAIL (pop3) is an example of a server. 2.
