Pedigree Software, 123 Links Drive, Solihull, B91 2DJ - UNITED KINGDOM http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/pedigreesoftware/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This demonstration Personal Genealogical program is limited to 170 people, and tree and report viewing facilities with updating and printing. However, this will still allow you to create and update your own data and see how PediView's versatile trees, charts and reports can be displayed and tailored for your requirements. Existing registered PediView users can use it to update their version and it will not be subject to the limit of 170 records. Pedigree and PediView use a unique genealogical picture script language to allow you to adapt it to your requirements. This can be different in each database that you create. You start from a database called Elton.ped, and make your own New DB from that. Each record is stored on disk when pressing F9 after an edit, but the indexes and picture changes are only stored when using the File menu for save, close or exit. The full version of Pedigree allows changes and additions to the field and record definitions as well as to the pictures, reports and tables which this version allows. The Pedigree System costs œ60 GBP (+ œ3 for airmail) (no VAT) (VISA, Delta, MasterCard, EuroCard), including a 40-page Getting Started booklet and 200-page reference manual for databases and menus. Pedigree was developed for MS-DOS and became the most popular program for readers of the UK Society of Genealagists magazine 'Computers in Genealogy'. PediView is the name of the Windows version that has taken over most of Pedigree features. PediView ---------- is the developing version for Windows 3.1x, '95, '98 and NT. It uses the same database types as Pedigree. PediTree is the name for the 32-bit version which supports Jpeg images. WINDOWS: to install it with icons in c:\pedigree, or your choice.
